2026 Annual Holiday Trellis Lighting Ceremony
Be part of the excitement when Mayor Wu counts down to flip the switch that turns on the 50,000 lights on the trellis! The lighting celebration includes holiday sing-alongs and a visit from Santa Claus! Enjoy cookies, hot chocolate, and clam chowder. Bundle up and be part of the fun!

Thanks to the generosity of our members and corporate sponsors, the Friends of Christopher Columbus Park with support from the City of Boston Parks and Recreation Department illuminates the trellis with blue lights from the end of November through the middle of April.
The illuminated trellis has been named one of the "Ten Most Romantic Places in Boston" and year 'round it is the site of marriage proposals, wedding photos, and happy families.
