The Gala is the major annual fundraising event of the Friends of Christopher Columbus Park, which is an all-volunteer neighborhood group that:
- Provides funding for Annual Trellis Lights
- Maintains the Rose Kennedy Memorial Rose Garden
- Purchases New Trees and Plants for the Park
